Okay, here comes DH Tourney for this year - while i am in the middle of so many things. Played in S11 on 11th as per server time. Was already too tired after taking the Sun exam, but I do not want to miss DH either. The 12-rounds lasted around 5:30 hours and in the end, I got 121st place out of 332 players. Today, appeared for the Solaris 10 SysAdmin Part I Beta exam (311-200) at the local Prometric test center. The beta exam is free, it was of four hours duration and had 180 questions to be answered. I enjoyed the exam thoroughly and somehow managed to fill-in all the answers in 3hrs 15 mins without taking a nap :-) My feedback on this exam is posted here.What next?Have to go play Dos Hermanas

After a week of effort (downloading the iso images, checking the MD5 sums and then burning them onto CDs), yesterday I got all the CDs in order and today I finally installed Solaris 10 on x86, first as single boot, then as multi-boot with Win2K in first partition and Solaris from second onwards. What a happy moment after all the effort!! Have played with it for a while. More details here soon.

Read this statement somewhere recently: "We are becoming the tools of our tools"! Thinking about this, I decided how about not using the computer for a day. So yesterday afternoon I stopped using it and only today evening have I switched it on again. Good, I passed this test. Last night, thought of watching this event live, but I was too tired to stay awake till 3:30am. Well, I have to go thru all the presentations and press kit to figure out whether Sun is back in form or not. At least I am glad that they released Solaris 10 as open-source. I wish I can download and test it sooner (my ISP sucks but that is a different story).
